Frequently Asked Questions
What is a gong bath?
A gong bath is a journey through sound in which you lie or sit in a relaxed position while the vibrations from gongs and singing bowls travel through the room and through your body. It is neither a massage nor a concert in the traditional sense, but rather an invitation to let go, find peace, and allow yourself to be carried away by the sound.
Do I need to have experience with meditation?
No. You don’t need any prior experience with meditation, yoga, or sound work. All you need to bring is an open mind. The sound will guide you—you don’t have to do anything right.
What should I bring?
Ideally, bring a mat or a towel, a warm blanket to cover yourself with, perhaps a small pillow, and some water for afterward. Comfortable, warm clothing is recommended, as your body temperature may drop during deep relaxation.
How long does a session last?
A group session usually lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours. Individual sessions (Silent Gongs) typically last 60 to 75 minutes. You can find the exact times in each session description.
Is a gong bath appropriate during pregnancy?
Many pregnant women find sound to be pleasant and soothing. It’s important to listen to your body and, if you have any concerns, consult your midwife or doctor beforehand. A gong bath is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
How much does a session cost?
Prices vary depending on the format—group sound bath, individual session, or event. You can find the current prices listed directly next to the respective dates in the event calendar.
Where exactly are the sessions taking place?
Most sessions take place at Studio E, Liese-Meitner Str. 2, 24941 Flensburg. You can find directions on the “Where to Find Us” page. For some events (e.g., retreats), the location may vary—this will be noted in the event details.
I have some health issues — can I still participate?
A gong bath is generally gentle and well-suited for most people. However, caution is advised for those with certain pre-existing conditions (e.g., epilepsy, pacemakers, acute mental health conditions, pregnancy with complications). In this case, please contact me in advance via WhatsApp so we can discuss together whether and how participation would be appropriate for you.
I still have some questions — what's the fastest way to reach you?
The easiest and fastest way to reach me is via WhatsApp. Just send me a quick message with your question, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
